ProtonVPN Fire Stick Setup Guide

Secure your streaming experience with ProtonVPN

Install the Downloader App

If you don't already have the Downloader app on your Fire Stick, you'll need to install it first:

  1. From the Fire Stick home screen, navigate to Finne and select Søk
  2. Type in "Nedlaster" using the on-screen keyboard
  3. Select the Downloader app (it has an orange icon)
  4. Klikk Last ned eller Get

Profftips

Make sure your Fire Stick is connected to the internet before proceeding with any downloads.

Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

Before installing ProtonVPN, you'll need to enable installation from unknown sources:

  1. Go to your Fire Stick Innstillinger (gear icon in the top menu)
  2. Velge My Fire TV eller Device
  3. Velge Developer Options
  4. Turn ON Apper fra ukjente kilder
  5. If prompted with a warning, select Turn On to confirm

Note

This setting allows you to install apps not available in the Amazon Appstore. Only install apps from trusted sources like ProtonVPN.

Open Downloader and Enter URL

Now it's time to download the ProtonVPN APK file:

  1. Lansere Nedlaster app
  2. If prompted for permissions, select Allow
  3. In the URL field, enter the direct APK download link for ProtonVPN:
https://protonvpn.com/download/ProtonVPN.apk

Alternatively, you can enter the Downloader code:

846297

Then press Gå eller Spille to start the download.

Profftips

Using the code method (846297) is easier than typing the full URL with the Fire Stick remote.

Download & Install ProtonVPN

The ProtonVPN APK file will now download and install:

  1. Wait for the download to complete (the progress bar will show the status)
  2. When prompted to install the app, select Installer
  3. Once installation is complete, you can select either:
    • Åpne to launch ProtonVPN immediately
    • Done to return to the Downloader app

Note

The installation might take a minute or two. If you receive any security warnings, you can safely proceed with the installation as ProtonVPN is a legitimate application.

Sign In & Connect to ProtonVPN

After installation, you'll need to log in to your ProtonVPN account and connect to a server:

  1. Åpne ProtonVPN from your apps list (if not already open)
  2. Skriv inn din ProtonVPN username and password
  3. Once logged in, select a server from the available list
  4. Pressen Koble til
  5. When prompted for VPN connection permissions, select OK

Profftips

For the best streaming experience, connect to a server that's geographically close to you for better speed, or choose a server in a specific country to access region-restricted content.

Move ProtonVPN to Home Screen (Optional)

For easier access to ProtonVPN, you can move it to your home screen:

  1. Hold the Home button on your remote for a few seconds
  2. Velge Apper from the menu that appears
  3. Find the ProtonVPN app
  4. Trykk på Menu button (☰) on your remote
  5. Velge Move to Front eller Move and position it where you want

Note

For security best practices, consider connecting to ProtonVPN before launching your IPTV or streaming apps.
